Kalispel Caseline Bowcase - Product Review

History of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians.  "River/Lake paddlers" or "camas people," as they were called by other Tribes, were semi-nomadic hunters, diggers and fishermen.  Traditionally, the Tribe inhabited a 200-mile stretch of land along the Pend Oreille River with a Tribal membership of about 3,000 people.  The abundant homeland consisting of mountainous, forested land, and most importantly the river, provided the necessary natural resources for the Tribe to sustain their way of life.  The Kalispel tribal homelands extended from British Columbia to Washington, Idaho and Montana.

History of Kalispel Case Line.  Originally founded by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians as Kalispel Metal Products, in 1985 the company had evolved into Kalispel Case Line, a Kalispel Tribal Enterprise.  The Kalispel Tribe is working towards many goals for tribal members and also for neighbouring communities.  Recent KCL profits have been utilized to market and expand business opportunities.  We manufacture high quality aluminum protective cases for many applications.  We use only marine grade .080 aluminum for strength and appearance.  Each case is measured and cut to exact specifications and heli-arc welded for strength and endurance.  We use only military spec hardware to assure the highest degree of performance and security.  Internally we use only condensed foam providing your contents a secure place to travel.  Unlike the interiors of some of our competitors' cases, ours prevents shifting and vibration which can cause both long and short-term damage.

Kalispel Double Compound Bow Case (BC481608).  I travel long distances to take up archery and hunting activities.  Some of my travels are by road, but more frequently, air travel has been the most convenient (or only possible) mode of transport.  An archer needs to know that his equipment will arrive at destination in the same condition as when it was packed.  This is pretty much assured when you travel with your equipment by road.  However, beware the pitfalls of air travel.  I have plenty of experience in this area.  Besides being a frequent traveller on commercial airlines, I am an Air Force C-130 Loadmaster (some would say load-smasher), who is well  versed in what takes place behind the "check-in counter" or what takes place after you hand your case over to an air courier.  We've all seen the transportation labels that say "This Way Up" or "Fragile"..... you might as well affix a label that says "Please Drop Kick Me".  You need serious protection for your equipment.  The cost of your equipment and the larger investment in air travel, time and opportunity, may all come together for one major event, be that a national or international competition, or the hunt of a lifetime.  Don't let inferior protection of your equipment be the cause of missing out on, or delaying, a significantly important event.  The cost of a proper case is very little when compared to a ruined event or missed opportunity.

In addition to transporting two bows, their is dedicated space in the case to carry 24 arrows and various archery accessories.  I also took out my Model 70 Winchester to see if it would fit.  No problem (for one bow and a rifle).  There was still room left over for a quiver........even still  more room if you could put it to use (gun cleaning kit, binoculars, rangefinder, etc).

This case is sturdy, lockable, sealed and well made.  Airline rated.  Holds 2 bows (bunk-bed style), 24 arrows and other archery accessories.  4 heavy duty milled feet stabilize the case on the ground.  A piano hinge, riveted every 3 inches, runs along the entire length of the bottom of the case.  A spring-loaded handle snaps closed against the case and out of the way.  Wrap-around seal extrusion to prevent entry of dust and moisture.  Outside dimensions 48 X 16 X 8.  Inside dimensions 47 X 15 X 8.  Weight - 31 pounds.  Can be ordered with optional factory installed wheels.  4 heavy duty zinc plated hasps and 2 stainless steel locking bars secure the case.  Ensure you use TSA approved locks for air travel.  Unconditional lifetime warranty.

This is a case for those of us who are serious about protecting our equipment.  See the complete line of cases offered by Kalispel Case Line at url:  http://www.kalispelcaseline.com
